Last Updated on Sunday, 3 January 2010 01:40 Written by Mire_B Sunday, 3 January 2010 01:40

BitLocker Drive Encryption is now a confirmed feature for the next iteration of Windows. Most probably Microsoft will continue to have the hard disk encryption technology in Windows 8 limited to the high end editions, just as it has been the case for Windows Vista and Windows 7. While it’s too early to tell for sure whether Microsoft’s stock keeping unit strategy for Windows is going to survive, it’s not too early to start speculating on the future existence of Windows 8 Ultimate and Enterprise, since these two are the only editions to feature BitLocker.
