There are scenarios in which you might want to disable Internet Explorer 9 software hardware acceleration, the feature that forces text and graphics rendering to be done by the GPU, and not by the CPU, as it was the case prior to IE9.
There’s an automatic Fix it solution from Microsoft at your disposal which makes it extremely simple to disable hardware acceleration, and then re-enable it when the need arises. Please bear in mind that KB2528233 refers to software-side rendering as opposed to GPU rendering.
