Windows 7 general availability – October 22, 2009 – the OS will be in stores and on new PCs. Release to manufacturing deadline in mid-July 2009. Windows 7 Upgrade Option Program free upgrades from Windows Vista are coming (no date yet, but close, as close as the end of this month).
